Job overview

We are looking for a dynamic and compassionate experienced Registered Mental Health Nurse with proven leadership and clinical expertise to lead the National Tier 4 inpatient CAMHS service, Collingham Child & Family Centre in Central London, provides in-patient care for children aged 6 and 13 with complex mental health needs

This is a unique opportunity to join a passionate, multidisciplinary team, committed to creating a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment where young people and their families are at the heart of everything we do. The Matron, will be the clinical and operational lead for nursing, support staff and clerical/administrative staff & will work closely with the Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, Therapy Lead, and senior management to provide leadership to the multi-disciplinary Team to drive outcome focused goals that delivers sustainable transformation, aligned to the National, Trust, Nursing, Workforce and Quality/Safety strategies.

Visible nursing leadership is critical for driving service improvement and you will be required to work Monday-Friday 9am-5pm with potential for some flexibility at times based on the needs of the service.

Main duties of the job

The main responsibility of the post is to manage the ward manager, nursing staff and clerical/ administrative staff together with those who support care delivery.

As Matron, you will be working closely with our Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, Therapy Lead, and senior management to provide leadership to the multi-disciplinary Team and ensure the provision of high-quality, evidence based care in accordance with the CAMHS operational plan, relevant national policies, legislations and to meet the requirements specified by the NHSE service specification. The matron will be responsible for developing and reviewing the functions structure and operational protocols of the unit to best meet the mental health needs of the young persons and families using our services.

The matron will take responsibility for raising professional standards, leadership/management and continual development of the nursing team in ensuring the delivery of high quality evidence based nursing assessment, care planning, record keeping and intervention forthe young persons and families using our services.

Education/Qualifications

* Registered Mental Health Nurse on NMC register with relevant Clinical Experience
* Ability to demonstrate the application of NICE guidance or similar to own sphere of practice
* Extensive operational experience in a clinical setting at senior Level
* Ability to practice within the scope of the NMC code of professional conduct or their professional body
* evidence of recent continuing professional development
* senior clinician with extensive CAMHS experience
* Ability to practice within the scope of the relevant code of professional coduct
* Attained master's degree or equivalent in relevant subject or working towards


Experience

* Broad clinical experience relevant to the post & clinical setting, including, experience of providing leadership across the nursing profession
* Proven Clinical leadership experience
* Experience of working collaboratively with other professions and partner organisation
* Demonstratable understanding of relevant national strategy/policy and how this relates to the service line
* Budgetary management & workforce development experience
* Delivering change by influencing others
* Track record of managing complex issues

Knowledge

* Understanding of recent health policy and NHS system reforms
