About The Role
Falmouth Exeter Plus manages and delivers services at Falmouth, Penryn, and Truro Campuses on behalf of Falmouth University and the University of Exeter. Working closely with the Falmouth & Exeter Students' Union (The SU) and the wider university partnership, we support higher education learning and living, ensuring the interests of all campus users are at the heart of everything we do.

We are looking for an experienced Carpenter/Joiner with general building experience to join our Estates team on a full-time, permanent basis. Working closely with the Maintenance Supervisor and Estates helpdesk team, you will deliver a first-class carpentry installation and maintenance service across various properties on campus. This role offers variety and a great opportunity to join a close-knit team. The position will primarily be based at our Penryn Campus, with occasional work at our Falmouth Campus.
About You
We seek an enthusiastic candidate who is City and Guilds qualified or holds an NVQ equivalent in Carpentry/Joinery, with substantial post-qualification experience. The ideal candidate can work independently, assess and solve problems on-site, and operate effectively as part of a team. We are interested in candidates with the following skills and experience:
* Recent and relevant experience in estates maintenance
* Significant experience managing carpentry maintenance tasks, including ordering parts/materials
* Excellent communication, relationship-building, and networking skills
* A full valid UK driving license
The working hours are mainly Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, with some flexibility and potential weekend work. You must be willing to participate in the Out of Hours Call-out rota.
