Join to apply for the Solution Engineer, UK and Ireland role at Global Payments Inc. The TSYS Solution Engineer role is part of the Sales Centre of Excellence and supports issuers in the UK and Ireland with payment solutions for credit, debit, prepaid and merchant services. The role is based in the UK and involves working closely with the sales team to support new and existing client engagements from early-stage meetings through to handover to implementations.
Responsibilities
* Provide day-to-day and strategic support to Sales during various phases of the sales cycle (prospect research, initial calls, RFI/RFP responses, presentations, prospect visit management, and meetings).
* Act as a liaison to develop combined sales strategy with other departments, partners, and vendors involved in the sales process for individual prospects.
* Manage all sales documentation and deliverables, ensuring accuracy and availability; provide updates/reports of prospects to Senior Management.
* Develop and deliver proposal materials for existing and prospective clients; prepare, present, and follow up on meetings and demonstrations.
* Lead value proposition sessions with internal teams to craft strong, quantifiable themes for responses.
* Complete and review documentation in response to RFI/RFP requests; create and lead pitch presentations to prospective clients, including storyboarding and coaching the bid team.
* Perform solution design work addressing client requirements and coordinate with internal technical and commercial teams to formulate winning proposals.
* Deliver product demos aligned with prospect requirements in collaboration with Product teams.
* Support development of sales strategies with other inter-company departments and partners.
* Collaborate with Marketing and product owners to gather information and materials for sales offerings.
* Identify coaching opportunities and provide feedback to less experienced Solution Engineers.
* Assist management with coordinating strategic Sales Team activities (e.g., team education, trade shows).
* Compile information and prepare reporting on strategic sales activities and key metrics for executive leadership.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the current product/service portfolio and developments in the payments industry.
Qualifications
* Extensive experience in the payments industry (5+ years), with significant focus on issuer processing.
* Experience with TSYS TS2 platform and ecosystem is advantageous.
* Articulate with strong English language writing skills; ability to present to mid-level and senior audiences.
* Understanding of IT trends (cloud computing, big data, APIs, etc.).
* Strong writing skills to convey TSYS value propositions clearly in proposals and presentations.
* Analytical problem solver with the ability to resolve issues quickly; reliable strategic partner to the sales team.
* Team player with willingness to travel; comfortable coaching and supporting more junior team members.
* Strong relationship-building skills to develop internal and external networks for up-to-date sales collateral and market insights.
* Technical experience a plus — knowledge of solution architecture, integration patterns, and SDLCs.
* Ability to travel to meet prospects and internal teams.
