Job Overview
The post holder will provide comprehensive and high quality receptionist/telephonist service, exercising judgement and using a combination of skills to deal with day‑to‑day issues in a constantly changing environment. The role requires a sensitive and caring, client‑focused attitude and the ability to maintain a calm and organised approach under pressure. The ability to speak Welsh is essential for this post.
Main Duties
* Deal with enquiries in person and over the telephone appropriately, efficiently, courteously, promptly and discreetly, recognising the different needs of individuals.
* Deal with security for both the secure unit and Bryn Y Neuadd site, including monitoring of CCTV and working with the estates team.
* Hand out staff keys, alarms and site keys.
Essential Criteria
* Confidence in dealing with the public by telephone and in person.
* Experience using Microsoft Office packages.
* Previous experience in a busy reception.
* Empathy and understanding of the public.
* NVQ level 1 in customer services or equivalent experience.
Desirable Criteria
* Experience working within an NHS setting.
* General understanding of the MH & LD Directorate functions.
Knowledge
* General understanding of how the NHS functions.
* Communication skills – concise, accurate and grammatically correct.
Skills
* Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
Desirable Skills
* Previous experience in customer services.
Language Skills
* Welsh – Essential to level 3.
