We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Conveyancer to manage residential or commercial property transactions from instruction to completion. The successful candidate will provide a high standard of client care, ensure compliance with relevant legislation, and maintain strong working relationships with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders, commercial agents, and other third parties.
Key Responsibilities
Handle a full caseload of residential or commercial property transactions, including freehold, leasehold, sales, purchases, transfers, and refinancing matters.
Conduct title checks, searches, enquiries, and raise any necessary requisitions.
Draft, review, and prepare contracts, transfer documents, leases, and other related legal documentation.
Liaise with clients, estate agents, commercial agents, mortgage providers, surveyors, lenders, and solicitors acting for other parties.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, anti-money laundering checks, and firm policies.
Manage deadlines, progress chasing, and proactively update clients and stakeholders throughout the transaction.
Deal with exchange of contracts, completion arrangements, and post-completion matters, including Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) submissions and registration at HM Land Registry.
Maintain accurate file records and case management systems.
Provide professional, friendly, and efficient service at all times.
Strong knowledge of residential or commercial conveyancing processes, land law, and property transactions.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to manage multiple files and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
Problem-solving mindset with a proactive and client-focused approach.
Competent in using case management software and Microsoft Office applications.
Qualifications & Experience
Previous experience in residential or commercial conveyancing.
Licensed Conveyancer, Chartered Legal Executive, or Solicitor preferred but not essential.
Experience handling a full caseload independently.
Knowledge of AML regulations, Land Registry procedures, and SDLT requirements.
