Position Summary
Using engineering procedures standard for research and development, the engineer carries out assignments related to research, design, development, support, or manufacturing of specific parts, processes, software, or components of medical diagnostic systems. The engineer evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment for minor adaptations and modifications. Under the general direction of senior engineering personnel, with moderate self-direction, operates within one or more areas of responsibility within a specific function.

Essential Functions
* Acts as an individual contributor, core team member, or technical lead for specific projects.
* Responsible for completing assigned deliverables according to approved schedules.
* Authors documentation and supports activities related to design control.
* Plans, performs, and prioritizes tasks that are moderately complex, aligning with corporate goals.
* Analyzes and interprets data, identifies trends, and determines next steps as required.
* Designs and develops new test methods, specifications, technical apparatus, software, or processes for moderately complex components and functions.
* Identifies product defects and outliers, explains and documents their impact.
* Communicates complex technical information effectively through documentation, presentations, or summaries.
* Provides technical support or leads investigations for development and on-market activities.
* Generates schedules for tasks related to assigned projects.
Secondary Functions
* May provide limited technical guidance or supervision.
* Recommends improvements to departmental practices.

Interfaces regularly with various organizational groups as needed.

Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or a related field
Experience: Five years of product development or relevant experience; for candidates with advanced degrees, 1-3 years of relevant experience; demonstrated proficiency in current role for internal promotions; in vitro medical device experience highly desired.
