Overview
Core subject (Maths, English, or Science) SEN / SEND Tutors for Young People with SEND, SEMH, and other Additional Educational Needs required in East Sussex. Multiple positions are available and hiring is ongoing to meet the wide variety of needs we support.
We are on a mission to transform the quality of education provided to young people with SEN/SEND, SEMH, MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties) and SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties). We are looking for SEN / SEND tutors with a genuine passion for transforming the lives of disengaged, at-risk, and vulnerable learners in East Sussex. At Targeted Provision our mission is to raise the standard of educational support offered to vulnerable young people in the UK. We keep the team around the child, and you will be supported throughout every placement by our team of SEN / SEND Support Specialists.
This role is suited to qualified SEN / SEND teachers who are eager to work via 1:1 tutoring with children and young people with a variety of learning needs, in a creative, flexible, holistic, and trauma-informed manner to raise engagement and improve the educational journey.

The SEN / SEND Tutor role
* Provide Maths, English, or Science tuition to young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD/SLD, or other additional needs referred to Targeted Provision
* Work with young people referred by local authorities and schools, providing support in educational and social-emotional development
* Deliver flexible, holistic, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring
Tutor tasks and responsibilities
* Plan each teaching/tutoring/mentoring session
* Provide holistic, engaging sessions that meet needs and advance educational and social-emotional development
* Complete lesson reports and provide progress feedback
Requirements
* Professional Teaching Qualifications (QTS / QTLS)
* Minimum 2 years of teaching experience
* Experience working with young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD/SLD, or other needs
* Knowledge of safeguarding processes
* Enhanced DBS (assistance available at cost if needed)
* Two professional references
* UK-based with right to work in the UK, even for remote/online work
It is a strict requirement that you promote health, safety and wellbeing of children and young people and follow safeguarding policies at all times.
Employment Status
* This position involves engaging with us as a Worker to provide short-term engagements as they arise
* You will work through a contract for service and will be paid via PAYE
* We do not offer a set amount of work nor expenses coverage
* Our insurance covers the work you do for us
* This is not a self-employed tutoring/teaching position
