Job Opportunity: Freelance Site Reliability Engineer (Outside IR35) £500-550 | Remote (UK-Based) | Occasional travel to Farnborough or Hammersmith Contract until 2026 We’re hiring two hands-on Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) to join a fast-moving platform team on a long-term contract. This role is ideal for engineers with strong coding skills who are comfortable resolving live production issues — not just escalating them, but diving into the code and fixing them directly. This is a UK-based, fully remote position, with occasional in-person meetings in Farnborough or Hammersmith. The contract is outside IR35 and runs through 2026. Key Requirements Strong software engineering experience, ideally in Java (Spring Boot) and Python Proven background in SRE practices, including platform reliability, monitoring, and incident response Ability to debug and resolve issues directly in production code Solid experience with Kubernetes, AWS, CI/CD pipelines, and observability tools A proactive, collaborative approach with a strong engineering mindset Desirable Experience Background in regulated or high-availability environments such as Payments or FinTech Understanding of data platforms or large-scale platform architecture Why Join? Outside IR35 Competitive day rate (£500-550) Remote-first working with occasional on-site collaboration Long-term contract through 2026 Opportunity to have real impact on system reliability, performance, and code quality This is not a passive SRE role — you’ll be embedded in engineering teams, taking full ownership of production issues and resolving them at the code level. If you're a hybrid between a developer and an SRE, we'd love to hear from you.
