Siemens Healthineers MR Magnet Technology is the world’s leading designer and manufacturer of superconducting magnets for magnetic resonance imaging – over a third of MRI scanners installed worldwide have at their heart a magnet manufactured in our Eynsham factory. The business has been awarded several Queen’s Awards for export success, two Best Factory Awards and an IMechE Manufacturing Excellence Award, and is justifiably proud of its engineering and manufacturing heritage.

We are currently looking for an experienced maintenance engineer to join us, helping to ensure our manufacturing equipment runs efficiently and effectively, 24/7. The role offers you the chance to work on a good mix of mechanical and electrical maintenance, both reactive and preventative, as well as undertaking root cause analysis to identify the reasons behind issues and where changes may be required in the preventative maintenance scheduled. This particular role is offered on a rotating days basis, so 6am-2pm and 2pm to 10:30pm, rotating weekly, Monday to Friday. It is initially based at our factory in Eynsham, however you will also need to be comfortable working from our Bicester site when it opens in late 2026 if needed.

Your Role:

* Respond promptly to facility failures, employing appropriate skills and knowledge to restore plant and equipment to operational status efficiently.
* Take charge of start-up and shut-down procedures for plant and equipment, ensuring compliance with process parameters.
* Monitor all facility systems and input relevant data onto PC systems for analysis and record-keeping purposes.
* Execute planned maintenance activities and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiatives to ensure optimal equipment performance.
* Maintain accurate records by updating the maintenance management system upon task completion.
* Conduct regular checks and monitoring of plant and equipment, including tasks such as vibration analysis, weld parameter assessments, fluid level checks, and vacuum inspections.
* Uphold adherence to safe working practices and protocols to promote a secure working environment.
* Manage local spare parts inventory and ensure availability of necessary components for maintenance activities.
* Utilise problem resolution processes to address equipment malfunctions and operational issues effectively.
* Offer design solutions for simple Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) modifications, tooling adjustments, or mechanical problems as needed.
* Analyze relevant data to identify trends and develop appropriate remedial actions to optimize equipment performance.
* Provide advanced technical support and seek additional assistance as required to resolve complex issues and challenges effectively.

Your Expertise:

* A recognised engineering apprenticeship, NVQ, or BTEC
* Extensive experience as a multi-skilled maintenance engineer/ supervisor in an industrial environment, with a good blend of mechanical and electrical maintenance knowledge/experience
* The capability to methodically analyse equipment faults and calmly identify the root cause, then identify and implement safe, efficient and effective rectification plans
* Be able to demonstrate a Health and Safety focus with the ability to generate risk assessments and method statements
