Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Play Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and a strong background in childcare or early childhood education. As a Play Worker, you will be responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and stimulating environment for children to play and learn. Your role will involve supervising activities, promoting positive interactions, and supporting the development of children's social and emotional skills.
Responsibilities
* Supervise and engage with children during playtime, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
* Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that encourage creativity, physical activity, and social interaction.
* Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and staff through effective communication and collaboration.
* Maintain a clean and organised play area, ensuring that all equipment is safe and in good condition.
* Support children's individual needs, including those with special educational requirements or additional support needs.
* Assist in the development of children's social skills through group activities and cooperative play.
* Provide feedback to parents regarding their child's progress and behaviour in the play setting.
* Participate in training sessions to enhance professional development and stay updated on best practices in childcare.
Qualifications
* Previous experience working with children in a nursery/wraparound care or similar setting is essential.
* A background in early childhood education or relevant qualifications in childcare is highly desirable.
* Strong management and leadership skills to effectively guide activities and support fellow staff members.
* Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
* A genuine passion for working with children and fostering their development through play-based learning experiences.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £14,742.00-£16,360.00 per year
Expected hours: 22.30 per week
