DBS Checked Cleaner – Hospitals & Care Homes (Bristol)

Role Overview
Berkeley Scott is currently recruiting DBS Cleaners to work across hospitals and care homes in the Bristol area. This role is ideal for reliable, detail-oriented cleaners who take pride in maintaining high hygiene and safety standards. You’ll play a key part in supporting healthcare and care environments by ensuring all areas are clean, sanitised, and safe for staff, patients, and residents.
Key Responsibilities
1. Carry out thorough cleaning duties across wards, communal areas, restrooms, and staff facilities.
2. Maintain high hygiene standards in line with NHS and care sector cleaning protocols.
3. Use cleaning equipment and chemicals safely and effectively in accordance with COSHH regulations.
4. Replenish consumables such as soap, paper towels, and sanitiser.
5. Dispose of waste safely and appropriately.
6. Follow cleaning schedules and report any maintenance or health and safety concerns.
7. Work independently while adhering to site security and infection control procedures.
Requirements
8. Enhanced DBS certificate (essential).
9. Previous professional cleaning experience — ideally in hospitals, care homes, or similar environments.
10. Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
11. High attention to detail and strong awareness of hygiene and safety standards.
12. Good communication and time management skills.
13. Physically fit and able to meet the demands of the role.
14. Must be eligible to work in the UK and able to provide valid documentation.
