As an Emergency Nurse Practitioner (ENP), you’ll be at the heart of our Minor Injuries Unit, providing expert assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for adults and children aged 1 and above. Detailed job description and main responsibilities Duties and Responsibilities Clinical Assessment & Management Independently assess, diagnose, and treat a wide range of minor injuries in adults and children (age 1). Order and interpret diagnostic investigations such as X-rays and blood tests where appropriate. Prescribe medications/use Patient Group Directions (PGDs) within scope of practice and provide safe discharge plans. Patient Care & Safety Deliver high-quality, evidence-based care in line with local and national guidelines. Ensure safeguarding principles are applied for all patients, particularly children and vulnerable adults. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all patient interactions. Leadership & Teamwork Act as a clinical resource and mentor for junior staff and students. Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives. Participate in audits, clinical governance, and risk management activities. Communication Provide clear, empathetic explanations to patients and families. Liaise effectively with GPs, ED teams, radiology, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care.
