We are looking for a Study Support Coach who will be working in our busy pastoral and safeguarding team, creating and delivering to our 16+ students the PHSCE Curriculum. This curriculum has been developed and planned to prepare students for their future lives and covers subjects such as safeguarding, mental health, citizenship, conflict resolution, current affairs, healthy relationships, and developing STEM and sustainability skills.
The candidate will also be an integral part of the college pastoral and safeguarding team to aid our students in achieving their academic targets and providing wellbeing/pastoral support so all students enjoy and achieve their best possible grades and encourage personal growth and development.
What You Will Do
* Be responsible for creating and delivering the PHSCE Curriculum and lead on pastoral intervention sessions for students requiring support to achieve their learning objectives.
* Undertake or be willing to undertake the role of Designated Safeguarding Officer.
* Track and monitor learner attendance for PHSCE using appropriate systems to ensure a target of 90% attendance is achieved.
* Provide pastoral support and guidance to encourage positive student outcomes, achieving the qualification and target grades.
* Build positive relationships with learners and provide academic and wellbeing support to ensure successful achievement.
* Foster and develop multi-agency working partnerships to support learner wellbeing and outcomes.
About You
* PGCE/Cert Ed or relevant teaching/delivery experience.
* Knowledge of safeguarding.
* English and Maths qualification at Level 2 with a commitment to achieving Level 3 within 2 years of appointment if not already achieved.
* Significant experience or knowledge of working successfully with different groups of students enrolled in vocational courses where English and maths are integral parts of the study programme.
* Good working knowledge of new technologies and platforms to develop skills and knowledge.
* Ability to innovate and enthuse learners to succeed in their learning.
