Working hours: Shift - 4 on / 4 off, working 2 days & 2 nights
A full-time, permanent opportunity has arisen at our Barnsley site for an experienced Engineering Team Manager to join the team. The successful candidate will lead a multidisciplinary team to deliver all aspects of output according to standard metrics in an engaging and collaborative manner, to create capability and ensure overall delivery.
The successful candidate will:
* Ensure all Health, Safety, and Environmental procedures are followed. Support a behavioural safety culture, highlighting positive and negative behaviors, ensuring teams work safely and hygienically following company guidelines, and escalating accidents and incidents appropriately.
* Take a clear leadership role during breakdowns. Ensure appropriate handover processes are in place to maintain consistent ongoing shift operations. Audit work to ensure high standards.
* Work with Operational Team and Centre Managers to proactively develop and drive maintenance of lines, improve quality, safety, and asset utilization, working to agreed metrics and SLAs.
* Actively work to optimize automation performance, support service tracking and analysis of error rates, and assist in the production of corrective action plans.
* Set team goals collaboratively, communicate long and short-term objectives, ensure everyone understands their role, and provide business updates and briefings as needed.
* Manage all personnel matters promptly, including absence management, restrictions, LTS cases, misconduct, grievances, and work with HR to develop talent.
What we need from you:
* Recognized Engineering Apprenticeship, ONC/HNC, or equivalent qualification in engineering.
* A working understanding of Mechanical, Electrical, and Electronic manuals & drawings.
* Ability to collaborate and influence peers and senior management to drive progress and achieve results.
* Previous management experience.
* Ability to manage team performance, coaching, and development.
* FMCG or food management experience.
