Astutes Power team is partnering with a leading Power Generation company to recruit a Mechanical Engineer for work across two of its Power Stations located in Northern Ireland. The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the safe & efficient operation of the plant through ensuring optimal plant performance, reliability and compliance with regulatory standards. Responsibilities and duties: As the Mechanical Engineer you will be responsible for: Overseeing and executing mechanical engineering activities including maintenance and engineering work, projects and outages. Developing and maintaining an asset management plan to ensure the integrity of crucial assets including turbines (Gas and Steam), pumps, compressors, fans, fuel systems, pipework, valves etc. Managing the long-term condition monitoring systems, overseeing predictive maintenance schedules and supporting with troubleshooting and resolving complex mechanical faults. Review and management of the mechanical spares, obsolescence strategies and procurement. Leading Mechanical Projects including upgrades, replacement work and overhauls. Management of contractor performance during outages and capital projects. Supporting the management of LTSAs, negotiating scopes and evaluating technical proposals. Professional qualifications We are looking for someone with the following: Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a Mechanical Discipline Chartered Mechanical Engineer (or working towards) Personal skills The Mechanical Engineer role would suit someone with/who: Significant mechanical engineering experience ideally gained on a Combined Cycle or Open Cycle Power Station At least 10 years experience with mechanical rotating plant Knowledge of safety regulations and power station / industry standards including PSSR Detailed knowledge of maintenance philosophies Project management experience Contractor management experience Salary and benefits of the Mechanical Engineer role Competitive Salary up to £77,410 per year Bonus Opportunity Pension Life Assurance Wellbeing Package INDPOW LI-RW1 Astute People are acting as an employment agency in relation to this vacancy.
