A specialist primary SEN school in Sunderland is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to support pupils aged 4–11 with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), speech and language difficulties, sensory processing needs and moderate learning difficulties.

The school is built around a nurturing, child-centred ethos, where every pupil is supported to develop communication, independence and confidence in a structured and safe environment. Staff work closely together to ensure pupils feel understood, supported and ready to engage in learning.

Location: Sunderland
Hours: 8:30am – 4:00pm | Monday–Friday | Term Time Only

• Staff arrive for an 8:30am start to prepare for the school day
• Pupils follow structured routines with visual timetables to support transitions
• You will support pupils during lessons, play-based learning and sensory activities
• Break and lunch times are supervised and used as opportunities to build relationships and social skills
• The school day finishes at 4:00pm, with time allocated for team discussions and preparation

Consistency and routine are key within the setting, helping pupils feel secure and confident.
