Due to continuing international growth, ROVOP Inc. has an exciting opportunity for ROV Pilot Technicians, at all levels, to join us on a permanent basis. We currently have a number of global projects extending to 2024 and beyond, on dedicated schedules.
Key duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Observe safe working practices and adhere to electrical principles and industry standards.
* Communicate effectively with team members, clients, and onshore management.
* Participate in task risk assessments and toolbox talks.
* Adhere to all ROVOP policies and procedures.
* Assist ROV Supervisor in problem-solving and conducting projects professionally.
* Complete all pre- and post-dive checks.
* Undertake launch and recovery operations as instructed by the Shift Supervisor.
* Perform fault-finding tasks effectively with minimal supervision within acceptable time frames.
* Maintain constant communication with deck personnel during launch and recovery procedures.
* Ensure the full scope of work is undertaken and all supporting documentation is completed.
* Identify and ensure all navigational aids are operational.
* Carry out preventative and general maintenance.
* Understand and follow ROV operational and system manuals.
* Mentor ROV trainees as needed.
* Update system inventories.
* Independently pilot ROVs in most environmental conditions.
* Perform navigation and log-keeping duties.
* Complete and submit technical reports at the end of offshore cycles.
* Continuously learn technical and operational issues on the job.
* Possess good knowledge of third-party tooling and sensors, and troubleshoot accordingly.
* Supervise teams if required.
Successful candidates will have experience operating one or more of the following systems:
* Triton XLX and XLS systems
* Seaeye Panther, Cougar, and Tiger systems
* Sub-Atlantic Comanche and Mohican systems
Candidates must hold a valid competence certificate (IMCA guidelines), BOSIET, and offshore medical. Full GWO certification is preferable. Additional qualifications such as HV certification, a second passport, and valid seaman’s certification/books are advantageous.
