THE ROLE
We’re seeking an experienced Commercial Manager / Managing / Senior QS to join their high-performing project team in London.
This is a key senior hire, responsible for leading the commercial function on major mechanical and process projects - overseeing everything from pre-construction through to final account.
You’ll play a critical role in ensuring strong commercial performance, effective cost control, and robust contract management across complex, high-value builds.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Own the commercial function across major mechanical projects, from pre-con through to final account.
* Manage contracts & risk, including variations, claims, procurement strategy and subcontractor engagement.
* Drive cost performance producing forecasts, cashflow and reporting on value, margin and risk.
* Oversee measurement & valuations including BoQs, rate build-ups and agreement of project accounts.
* Control project finances, from interim applications through to subcontractor payments and change management.
* Lead and develop the commercial team, working closely with engineering, planning and project delivery.
* Act as a key commercial interface with clients and supply chain, ensuring smooth and commercially sound delivery.
ABOUT YOU
* 8+ years’ experience in Mechanical QS / Commercial roles.
* Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or Construction Economics.
* Strong background in mechanical services projects.
* Experience on semiconductor, cleanroom, or industrial projects highly desirable.
* Proven track record managing projects through full commercial lifecycle.
* Strong knowledge of contract forms (NEC, FIDIC, etc).
* Excellent commercial acumen, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
