What you’ll be doing
Working closely with colleagues across the Council, Legal and Finance teams, you’ll manage a portfolio of contracts and help ensure strong, proportionate contract management arrangements are in place. Depending on your experience, you may be involved in:
* Managing and monitoring contract performance, risk and value for money.
* Collecting, analysing and reporting KPIs and contract expenditure data.
* Working with services to resolve performance issues and agree improvement actions.
* Supporting and leading contract meetings with suppliers.
* Updating systems, registers and records to ensure accuracy and compliance.
* Providing clear advice and guidance to internal stakeholders.
About you
We’re looking for someone who is organised, confident and approachable, with a genuine interest in public sector contract management. You’ll bring:
* Experience in contract management, procurement or a closely related area (or transferable experience).
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
* A practical, solutions-focused approach.
* The confidence to work with a wide range of stakeholders and suppliers.
* A willingness to learn, develop and work collaboratively.
Professional qualifications (such as CIPS) are supported and progression within the career grade is clearly structured and evidence based.
