Shift Engineer – Five-Star Residential Property
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Shift Engineer to join the Engineering Team at a five-star deluxe residential property. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, and working in line with company policies, procedures, and the Engineering Standards Manual, the Shift Engineer will maintain and operate all plant, machinery, fixtures, fittings, and building fabric to ensure optimal resident comfort, operational efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
Compliance Monitoring
Ensure all statutory requirements are met, maintaining up-to-date certificates filed within the designated Building Logbooks.
Operational Efficiency
Take ownership of defect repairs and ensure safe, efficient operation of all building plant and equipment.
Customer Service
Provide exceptional service to residents and colleagues, maintaining high standards of professionalism.
Task Management
Use Building Link to manage reactive helpdesk requests and provide timely feedback on all activities.
Utilise the CAFM system to receive, track, and complete tasks in line with specifications and service level agreements.
Feedback & Continuous Improvement
Provide feedback to the Technical Services Manager on software platforms, maintenance tasks, plant and equipment status, health & safety, and energy efficiency initiatives.
System Operation & Maintenance
Maintain and operate building systems, including boilers, pumps, chillers, air handling units, fans, electrical distribution, pipework, ductwork, and garage plant according to established guidelines.
BMS Monitoring
Monitor the Building Management System (BMS) for alarms, incorrect operations, setpoints, and scheduling, responding promptly as required.
Emergency Response & Fire Procedures
Carry communication equipment to respond promptly to incidents, providing updates on repair status.
Follow fire alarm procedures, ensuring sprinkler systems and the emergency generator are operational, isolating systems as directed by the Duty Manager or London Fire Brigade.
Ideal Candidate
Experience: 5+ years in an engineering role with relevant electrical or mechanical qualifications.
Desirable Experience: Previous experience in an ultra-luxury residential environment.
Skills & Attributes:
Strong attention to detail and quality.
Ability to maintain and repair a wide range of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
