Overview
The (Bank) Chef will assist the Head Chef with all requirements of the kitchen and adhere to any specific needs that the residents may have. To produce wonderful food with flair and consistency in order to enhance the lives of our residents. Our (Bank) Chef is to be motivated, passionate and be a caring individual in order to be an integral member of a highly professional catering team and provide the very best for the ladies and gentleman that reside with us in all areas of hospitality.
Key Duties
- Food preparation. To prepare food, drinks, snacks and specialised diets to a high standard and in a safe, compliant manner.
- To assist with service of meals, drinks and snacks in a friendly and professional manner and to be courteous to all residents, guests and fellow employees at all times.
- To keep the main kitchen, satellite kitchens and all food service areas clean and hygienic in accordance with the cleaning schedules provided and supervise this accordingly. This includes floors, work surfaces and equipment.
- To assist the Head Chef with the development and evolution of menus according to residents likes and dislikes. To assist the Head Chef with ordering of supplies and to work within budgets provided.
- To comply with the regulations of HACCP. These include:
a) To exercise due diligence regarding food safety and ensure that hygiene and food handling regulations are adhered to at all times.
b) To maintain a high standard of personal hygiene in accordance with the document: Responsibility of all food handlers
c) To ensure that deliveries are received correctly, recorded and stored timeously and correctly.
d) To ensure that all food is prepared in line with the food safety manual
e) To ensure that all daily, weekly and monthly records are kept in line with food safety legislation and company policies and procedures.
f) To promptly report any mechanical defects, hazards including potential pests to the head chef.
g) To undertake all legislative and mandatory training relevant to the role. This will be provided, however you will be responsible for keeping your e-learning and reading of company policies and procedures up to date.
Uniforms will be provided and you will be expected to follow the Dormy Communities dress code at all times.
Adhere to the Protection of vulnerable adult and Whistle blowing policy.
To interact with the residents and the care team on a daily basis and to make sure that our ladies and gentleman's dietary, nutritional needs and choices are being met.

Experience
Proven experience as a Chef in a restaurant or similar environment.
Excellent knowledge of food safety practices and kitchen hygiene standards.
Creative flair for developing new recipes and menu items.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with kitchen and front-of-house staff.
A passion for hospitality and providing outstanding customer service.
Pay: £15.37 per hour
Expected hours: 30 hours contract (part time) per week or 0 hours contract (bank hours)
