Experienced Social Worker – Children in Care Team Location: Medway Council Package up to - £54,329 per annum (Experienced Level) Full-Time | Permanent | Hybrid Working Available Social Personnel is proud to be working in partnership with Medway Council, who are seeking a dedicated and experienced Children in Care Social Worker to join their supportive and forward-thinking team. In this role, you’ll deliver a high-quality, child-focused casework service to children and young people who are looked after, ensuring they receive the care, stability, and support they need to thrive. Your Responsibilities: * Manage a diverse and meaningful caseload within reflective supervision frameworks * Undertake clear, analytical assessments, develop SMART care plans, and conduct regular reviews * Build direct, trusting relationships with children and young people to understand their lived experiences and wishes * Apply strengths-based and relationship-based approaches in complex family contexts including trauma, exploitation, mental ill-health, disability, and immigration * Embed Signs of Safety and Life Story Work into daily practice * Contribute to care planning, permanency strategies and attend key statutory meetings and court proceedings * Produce timely, well-structured reports to a high professional standard * Keep up-to-date, accurate records using Medway’s case management systems * Maintain your Social Work England registration and CPD portfolio * Stay informed of national legislation, guidance, and evidence-based practice models What We’re Looking For: * Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration * Proven experience in Looked After Children/Children in Care teams * Strong understanding of relevant legislation (Children Act, GDPR, Working Together) * Confident in managing complex safeguarding and permanency planning * Skilled in communication, collaboration, and advocating for vulnerable children * Resilient, reflective, and committed to continuous professional development Why Join Medway Council? * £54,329 salary for experienced social workers * Flexible/Hybrid working options * Commitment to reflective supervision & wellbeing * Excellent CPD, training and development support * A culture that values collaboration, diversity and inclusion Ready to Apply?
