Job Summary Working with the Managing Director, Sales Coordinator and Marketing, you will be responsible for driving sales growth through proactive lead generation, relationship building, and strategic sales activities. The role involves understanding customer needs, preparing tailored solutions, and ultimately expanding our market presence and revenue. Key Responsibilities Lead Generation: Working with the MD and marketing, identify target markets where there has been previous success. Identify and qualify high quality potential clients through online research, networking events, and industry contacts. Utilise various tools and resources to create a robust pipeline of prospective clients. Sales Planning: Create activity plans to achieve the goals and targets set out in the sales strategy. Relationship Building: Develop and nurture relationships with new and existing clients. Schedule regular check-ins, provide exceptional customer service, and ensure client satisfaction to build long-term partnerships. Client Meetings: Conduct telephone, online and face-to-face meetings with potential clients to understand their needs, present our products, and offer customised solutions. Prepare for meetings by researching the client’s business and industry. Note we expect our primary communication method to be by telephone or meeting. Email and other electronic communication methods are considered a last resort. Marketing Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing team to generate marketing collateral that supports the sales function. Provide feedback, support and ideas to help with content generation, case studies, web content, newsletter. Assist with the creation and execution of activities that drive lead generation. Sales Tracking and Reporting: Track all sales activities, maintain an up-to-date sales pipeline, and report on performance metrics using CRM software. Analyse data to identify trends and adjust strategies as needed. Product Knowledge: Learn and understand the technical capabilities of our client’s product range to the degree that the role incumbent can understand customer need and put together an appropriate solution/quote. Training will be given. Industry Knowledge: Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities. Share insights with the team and adapt strategies to maintain a competitive edge. Representation: Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences. Engage with industry professionals, share knowledge, and promote our products and services. Potential Key Performance Indicators Number of new leads generated per month Number of quotations generated per month Conversion rate of leads to sales revenue Sales revenue from new and existing clients Number of calls, online and face-to-face meetings conducted per month Client satisfaction and retention rates Achievement of quarterly and annual sales targets Qualifications and Skills Minimum of three A Levels or equivalent in science based subjects. Bachelor’s degree preferred in Engineering, Business or a related field Proven experience in business development, sales, or a related role Strong communication and interpersonal skills Excellent negotiation and presentation skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite Knowledge of industrial sensors and associated equipment and applications preferable but not essential, training will be provided. Role Location The role is office based to enable collaboration and integration with the wider team Expectation the role holder will be in meetings and out of the office two to three days a week
