Social Personnel are proud to be working with Medway Council to recruit an experienced Senior Social Worker for their Specialist Services team, supporting adults of all ages with Learning Disabilities and Autism.
This is a key role for a highly skilled practitioner who is confident managing complex cases and working in a multidisciplinary setting. You’ll be making a direct difference in the lives of vulnerable adults, helping to shape safe, empowered, and independent futures.
🔍 The Role:
As a Senior Social Worker, you will:

Work closely with adults, carers, and partner agencies to provide person-centred, holistic support.
*
Conduct strengths-based assessments and co-produce personalised care plans.
*
Respond effectively to crises, providing immediate interventions.
*
Promote independence using least-restrictive and positive risk-taking approaches.
*
Manage a complex caseload with autonomy and resilience.
*
Carry out regular face-to-face visits as required.
✅ Requirements:
*
Strong working knowledge of the Care Act 2014 and Mental Capacity Act, including leading Section 42 enquiries and conducting complex MCA assessments.
*
Experience supporting adults with Learning Disabilities and/or Autism, particularly those detained under Section 3 of the Mental Health Act.
*
Ability to prepare reports for Mental Health Tribunals and manage Section 117 aftercare funding.
*
Familiarity with Court of Protection DoLS applications, CHC funding, and Dynamic Support Services.
*
Confident managing high-risk cases and contributing to service development.
*
Registered with Social Work England and eligible to work in the UK.
