Location: Colchester - hybrid working and regular travel to sites

Here within Anglian Water, we collaborate with a number of alliance partners to provide the best water and water recycling services across the region by maintaining our existing assets and undertaking new projects to safeguard future water supplies.
Playing a key part in our drive to bring environmental and social prosperity to the region we serve through our commitment to Love Every Drop are our Integrated Operational Solutions (IOS) Alliance. Comprising of Anglian Water, Morrison Utility Services, Barhale and Kier, the IOS Alliance work together to concentrate on solutions across the water recycling and clean water asset base.
Responsibilities
As SHEQ Manager, you’ll support our MEICA site teams and sub-contractors in ensuring safety standards are upheld and to advise on minimising and avoiding risks around day-to-day work. Our Anglian Water team work on maintaining, repairing and upgrading the Non-Infrastructure Assets.
Your day to day will include:
1. Actively promoting Safety, Health and Welfare, leading and setting a good example to other employees and stakeholders
2. Working closely with the operational teams in carrying out their roles and SHEQ responsibilities
3. Assisting the operational teams in developing Risk Assessments and Safe Systems of Work
4. Conduct regular and robust health and safety Inspections & Audits
5. Manage Training and development to ensure a high level of competency throughout the team.
6. Appoint Principal Designers
7. Appoint Designers
8. Appoint TWC/TWD
9. Compile and Present monthly team briefs
10. Compile H&S reports for the business
11. Incident investigation
12. Manage and implementation of the SHEQ Improvements plan.
13. Development and implementation of safe working practices
What are we looking for?
14. Experience in a similar role within the Utilities/ Water industry with a MEICA background
15. NEBOSH certificate in occupational health & safety
16. Membership of relevant professional institution (e.g. IOSH, IEMA)
17. Full Driving Licence
