Position: SEND Teaching Assistant (KS1 / 2)
Contract: Temporary (Full Time and Part Time)
Start Date: September 2025
Location: Gravesend
We are currently working in partnership with a warm, inclusive primary school that provides exceptional education and pastoral care for children in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. The Role
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:
1. Provide tailored support to pupils with a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and dyslexic traits.
2. Work closely with the class teacher and SENDCo to adapt learning materials and ensure lessons are accessible for all.
3. Deliver targeted interventions in both small group and one-to-one settings.
4. Support the effective use of sensory spaces and resources to help pupils regulate and engage in learning.
5. Build strong, supportive relationships with pupils, encouraging independence and self-confidence.
The Ideal Candidate
You will:
6. Have experience supporting children with SEND in a school setting, ideally across KS1 and KS2.
7. Demonstrate patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt to individual learning styles.
8. Have strong communication skills, able to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external agencies.
9. Bring creativity and enthusiasm to make learning engaging and accessible.
10. Hold relevant qualifications or training in SEND (desirable but not essential).
