Vacancy Information

Recognising the service and achievements, of our officers, staff and volunteers is essential for the force and allows the force to show gratitude to these individuals who work hard to support the force priorities and make a difference to the communities across Sussex.

The Role & Key Responsibilities

We are seeking a volunteer to come and join the Events, Reward and Recognition team; your role will involve supporting with the administrational tasks of events in force as well as physically supporting at the events if you are available. The role is based at Lewes Headquarters but will involve travel to events.

Key Responsibilities:

• To Support with event administration such as sending out placeholder emails, invites to recipients and follow up from the generic email address.
• To convert and condense recognition submissions into suitable text that can be added to certificates.
• Support with preparation of materials for force events, such as certificates, framing, event programmes and attestation.
• To provide support after an event, including posting certificates, medals and coins through the internal mail.
• To provide logistical support at force events. This will comprise of a range of duties to ensure that signage and displays are in place in good time for each event and cleared up to leave the premises tidy and in good order. This could also include reception duties, meeting and greeting and managing refreshments etc.

Skills & Experience

• Good computer and IT skills.
• Great written communication skills.
• Good organisational skills.
• Clear and concise verbal communication skills with people from different roles during a force event and an ability to work without direct supervision.
• Own transport to travel to event locations.
