Job responsibilities
Providingdental services to special care adults and young people
Treating referred patients thought suitable to receivetreatment in primary care
Undertaking the delivery of dentistry servicesusing conscious sedation techniques
Deliveringdental care under General Anaesthesia if appropriately trained
Providing expert advice and guidance tocolleagues with special care patients
Providingexcellence of service including written clinical detail enabling colleagues toprovide face-to-face treatment or other interventions at future appointments
Activelyengaging with Smile Together teams and participating in peer review, clinical auditactivities, planning and development sessions and in-house meetings etc.
Beingresponsible for safe working and practice on a day-to-day basis in sites ofclinical activity, ensuring compliance with clinical governance andlegislation, appropriate health, safety and security procedures within the workarea, and reporting accidents, incidents and near misses using the SmileTogether incident reporting procedure
Undertakingother reasonable duties as requested by the Dental Director, Clinical Directorsand Smile Together Management Team
Workingwith the Dental Director, Clinical Directors, and other operational andclinical leads to ensure your experience and knowledge helps to drive service improvement
Treating target numbers of patients
Maintaining and developing your clinical competency and continuing professional/personaldevelopment according to agreed training needs via our Smile Together TrainingAcademy, other external educational providers
Attendingand actively contributing to Peer Review meetings
Developing a Personal Development Plan as described in the GDC Standards
Supporting colleagues in the delivery of urgent and emergency careservices including temperature checks with co-workers in this clinicalenvironment
Working alongside clinical and professional support colleagues infacilitating ongoing organisational change and development
On occasions you may be required to visit andwork from other locations where you would need to integrate as part of thelocal team
Playinga valuable part in contributing to the success of our organisation
Beingan ambassador for the companys vision, mission and values and demonstraterelated behaviours
Professionallyrepresenting Smile Together as an ambassador for the company in this role,leading by example
Maintaining good IT skills including in the useof our Practice Management System
Person Specification
Experience
* Post qualification experience minimum five years
* Experience in providing care within referral services
* Experience in BIMs
* Experience working in the GA setting (MOS/Special care)
Qualifications
* BDS or equivalent
* Registration with GDC without conditions
* Active performer number
Knowledge
* Knowledge of systems of care provision and current health and safety regulations including but not limited to COSHH, ionising radiation and HTM01-05
* Knowledge of the GDPR and NHS confidentiality guidelines (EG Caldicott) and their implications
* Knowledge of systems of healthcare governance and assurance, including but not limited to audit and service improvement.
