Intermediate Mechanical Engineer Location: Milton Keynes (Hybrid) Salary: Around £40,000 About the Company A growing building services consultancy delivering sustainable, high-quality projects across the retail, education, heritage, and industrial sectors, with recent expansion into high-end residential work. The company has grown steadily over the past year, adding new team members and taking on a wider range of projects. They're seeking an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer to bridge the gap between the Technical Director and a team of three graduate/junior engineers. The role is primarily office-based in Milton Keynes, with flexibility for hybrid working. You'll take responsibility for mechanical design delivery, technical supervision, and mentoring, while contributing to a diverse portfolio of projects. Key Responsibilities Lead and deliver mechanical (HVAC) design packages under senior guidance Supervise and mentor junior engineers Coordinate with electrical, structural, and architectural teams Produce and review calculations, drawings, and specifications Support design reviews, QA processes, and client meetings Occasionally attend site visits and inspections Typical Projects Office refurbishments and fit-outs Warehouses and industrial buildings School extensions and education facilities Retail and heritage projects High-end residential developments About You 3-7 years' experience in building services (consultancy or contractor background) Strong mechanical design skills and understanding of UK standards Competent with Revit/CAD and mechanical design software Confident communicator, able to support and guide junior staff Interest in sustainability and low-carbon design Working toward Chartership (desirable) What's on Offer Salary around £40,000, depending on experience Hybrid working (office/home balance) Pension and professional development support Opportunity to grow with a progressive, expanding consultancy Feel free to get in touch with Danny Brookes at Calibre Search for more information.
