HSEQ Field Advisor – Ricardo
Location: Manchester with monthly travel to other offices (Glasgow, London and Bristol) and fieldwork site visits.

The Role
We are looking for a HSEQ Field Advisor to join our Water team, supporting the water industry and airports, within a multidisciplinary fieldwork team that captures hydrometry, water quality, ecological and aerial imagery data from terrestrial, river, groundwater and coastal environments. The role will oversee all aspects of fieldwork safety, with a particular focus on water safety across the European Region.
Key Responsibilities
* Work as part of a wider Health and Safety management team, providing specific oversight for fieldwork activities.
* Manage the risk assessment processes, method statements and guidance, requiring familiarisation with field activities and appraisal of the issues and risks faced.
* Audit our field teams against procedures, identifying areas for improvement and training requirements.
* Appreciate the full range of risks from operating in diverse outdoor environments.
* Implement and oversee fieldwork safety policies, driving continuous improvement in health and safety performance.
* Integrate health and safety improvements into day‑to‑day fieldwork consultancy services.
* Act as regional advisor for all HSEQ requirements, ensuring delivery across the region.
* Understand local regulatory and standards requirements and define their impact on the business.
* Show leadership in compliance to relevant standards, including ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO45001.
* Provide regular status reporting to the HSEQ Manager on trends, status, key issues and actions.
* Lead HSE Forums for the region.
Key Competencies And Experience
* Relevant experience in delivering safety management outdoors, especially in river and coastal environments.
* Understanding of UK Health and Safety regulations.
* NEBOSH or NCRQ Certificate and membership of IOSH.
* Outdoor risk assessment and method statement management.
* Small‑boat handling experience with RYA/MCA certification.
* Management of personal protective equipment.
* Management of health and safety training programme.
* Site visit auditing experience.
* A clean full UK driving licence.
