Role | Public Family Solicitor
Experience | 2-4 years PQE
Based | Luton
Offer | £45,000 - £60,000 (depending on experience)
We are working with a reputable and well-established regional practice who are seeking a Public Family Solicitor to join their specialist Family team on a full-time, permanent basis.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive and experienced department handling public law children matters, representing parents, guardians and family members. The firm is known for its strong local presence, approachable culture, and commitment to delivering high-quality client care. The successful candidate will ideally be on the Children Panel, or be at a stage where they are ready and eligible to apply.
Typical duties would include:
* Managing a caseload of public children law matters.
* Representing clients in Care Proceedings and related disputes.
* Advocacy at hearings, case management conferences and directions hearings.
* Working closely with social services, guardians, counsel and external agencies.
* Preparing statements, instructions to counsel and case strategy.
* Supporting and contributing to ongoing team development and client engagement.
The successful candidate:
* Qualified Solicitor with 2–4 years’ PQE in public family law.
* On the Children Panel or ready/eligible to apply.
* Confident advocate with strong communication and organisational skills.
* Empathetic, professional and client-focused in approach.
* Able to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
