The role will suit someone who can demonstrate strong analytical capabilities and has an interest in data analytics, is a strong communicator who can work well in a team and who will flourish in a fast-paced environment where you are given early responsibility.
We have an IT graduate opportunity within our Data Analytics team, the team comprises of database and data visualisation developers, business analysts and project management. The analytics team are key to driving our strategic pillar “Joined up impactful data”.
Overview of the IT Function:
Our IT function is split into 3 areas, each is headed up by a senior manager.
1. Technology & Service
2. Commercial Systems (Including Analytics and Automation)
3. Supply Chain Systems
In total, we have a team of c.85, (based in various locations including St Albans, Manchester and Winchester), and work with a number of 3rd parties who provide us with Networking capabilities as well as specialist, technical and development activity.
The Scheme
The 2-year graduate programme will see you working within the IT Data Analytics team supporting the MAID programme “Modern analytics with Impactful Data”. The programme is introducing a new advanced data platform and visualisation tool which will enable the business on the road to outperformance. The grad role will focus on data engineering and working with our 2 data platforms BW4 and AWS Redshift
As part of the role you will be responsible for:
1. Understanding business reporting requirements and build database solutions to enable the users to see the data in the visualisation tools
2. Gain an understanding of data platforms, models and queries with SAP BW4 and AWS redshift
3. Understand how the database developments are visualised for users to consume to establish a full picture of delivery.
4. Work with the internal analytics team and our partners to deliver analytics requirements
5. Potential to work on new technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML)
Travel may be required to different locations, which may include overnight stays.

Typically you will possess a degree demonstrating abilities in logic, analysis and data interpretation such as maths, statistics, economics, computing and engineering.
Minimum Entry Requirements
12. 3 A Levels – minimum of 280 UCAS points gained
13. Degree qualified 2:1 minimum achieved (or expected)
14. Clear career aspirations demonstrated through employment or work experience/placement
15. The right to work in the UK and English speaking
16. UK driving licence
17. Experience of leadership roles across sports, hobbies or other interests
18. Strong Communicator both oral and written
19. Skilled in Microsoft Suite
