Role responsibilities
The Senior Programme Manager (Commercial Programmes) will lead the successful development and delivery of the Commercial Programme’s portfolio of projects designed to increase Transport for Wales (TfW) ability to grow revenue, and supports TfW's subsidiary companies in the delivery of business change programmes.
* Be the strategic lead of the planning, and management of all programmes and projects within the Commercial programme’s portfolio by being accountable for delivering programme and commercial objectives to meet financial targets of the commercial directorate.
* Provide strategic direction and leadership on the completion of projects and programmes through programme controls and governance frameworks to ensure effective delivery of all programmes to time and cost.
* Provide strategic direction in the delivery of health and safety governance across the portfolio by setting Health and Safety requirements to ensure programmes deliver against plan as well as meet regulatory requirements.
* Provide direction on risk appetite across the portfolio by being the strategic risk owner to ensure that sufficient risk mitigation is in place to protect TfW against significant business risks.
Who we’re looking for
* Expert knowledge of programme and project management methodologies including MSP and PRINCE 2.
* Successful experience in influencing and operating at a strategic level on complex, high value multi-disciplinary projects in the transport industry
* Experience of managing large scale budgets.
* Experience of delivering effective, complex change programmes
Welsh Language Skills
The ability to speak/write Welsh would make a great addition to your application, but it is not essential for this role.
Transport for Wales supports and promotes the use of the Welsh Language by employees and will encourage them to develop, improve and maintain their Welsh Language skills. We fully support our people who want to improve their Welsh language skills, and personal development for Welsh Language skills are offered in a variety of ways such as online learning, classroom courses and funding attendance at local community courses.
