We are currently supporting The Southern Health and Social Care Trust who provides health and social care services across Northern Ireland, in the appointment of a Consultant in Occupational Health Medicine, this can be a full or part time position and will be providing occupational health specialised advice to the Trust and a number of external customers NIAS, GP’s, Private Dental, Interserve, WUC etc.
You will ensure the delivery of a high-quality service, provide clinical leadership, support, expertise and guidance to the Occupational Health multi-disciplinary team, ensuring that a high quality, evidence based, efficient, effective service is provided.
The Health and Social Care Workforce Strategy 2026 sets out the workforce challenges facing health and social care in Northern Ireland. It identifies the need for additional investment in the wellbeing of the workforce as one of the key priorities. A main theme within the strategy is the development of Occupational Health services for health and social care workers, highlighting the need for early intervention and prevention.
This individual will contribute to the modernisation of the Trust Occupational Health Service, shaping service provision in line with current and future requirements. This will involve development of an accessible, proactive and person centred Occupational Health and Wellbeing service to support the optimum health and wellbeing of Trust staff.
You will promote the health and wellbeing of staff, supporting the highest level of care for patients and clients. Involved in developing the Trust as a fulfilling and rewarding place to work and an employer of choice, to improve staff experience and retention.

Essential Criteria:
* Hold full registration with the General Medical Council (London) with Licence to Practice or be able to obtain by time of appointment;
* Be on or be eligible to be on the GMC Specialist Register Occupational Health Medicine via CCT (proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of interview date), or CESR, or European Community Rights.
