Job Description for Support Worker
Support workers will assist Sonny, a male in his late teens living at Penny Farthing in New Milton, with daily activities and personal care. Sonny lives with three other residents in a Victorian-style Tudor home with outdoor space, ideal for activities.
Pay: £11.10 per hour, increasing to £11.50 after successful probation.
The role: Sonny receives 2:1 support seven days a week. He is partially verbal, communicating through speech, body language, and gestures. He enjoys food, especially chocolate cake and Hula Hoops, and has dietary restrictions (gluten and dairy free). Activities include gym visits, swimming, swinging, and forest walks. The goal is to support his transition to adulthood, promoting independence and decision-making.
Support worker responsibilities include:
* Sharing skills and life knowledge to promote independence
* Maintaining accurate records of care plans, finances, appointments, and medication
* Following and adapting support plans based on behavioral changes
* Providing personal care, including hygiene, bathing, and medication assistance
Experience in complex care is preferred. The ideal candidate is warm, engaging, patient, and empathetic. Drivers with their own car are essential, as the role requires travel.
We offer a 24/7 service with full and part-time hours, ideally between 8am-4pm or 4pm-10pm, with one sleep-in per week.
