We are looking for a highly motivated, innovative, and enthusiastic Pharmacy Technician to lead the technical aspects of the Digital and Procurement Pharmacy service.

This is a great opportunity for someone who has excellent communication skills and is committed to supporting high-quality patient care.

Applicants should have extensive experience in working as a pharmacy technician along with relevant experience in digital systems and procurement processes, as well as a high level of digital competence and IT skills.

The successful candidate will be the lead member of Pharmacy Procurement and will play an essential role in ensuring the safe, efficient and cost-effective procurement of medicines and pharmaceutical products for Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust.

Main duties of the job

Lead the Pharmacy Procurement service and work as part of a team to ensure those responsible for ordering medicines and pharmaceutical supplies do so in line with Trust procedures and SOPs.

Create Trust procedures and SOPs for monitoring stock levels to ensure continuity of supply across all clinical areas, managing outstanding orders, liaising with suppliers and wholesalers to resolve supply issues and sourcing alternatives where needed.

Supporting the Pharmacy team with stock management shortages.

Providing excellent customer service to clinical and non-clinical colleagues.

Support the Digital Pharmacy team with projects, service development and maintenance of electronic prescribing.

Ensure compliance with medicines management, governance, and Controlled Drugs requirements.

Support audits, incident reporting, SOP development, and service improvement.

Provide training and support to staff in digital systems and procurement processes.

Person Specification


Qualifications/Training

* BTEC or NVQ III or equivalent in Pharmaceutical Sciences
* Registered Technician with General Pharmaceutical Council
* Further certificates in Procurement/Digital or equivalent.
* Management courses or willing to undertake


Knowledge/Experience

* Excellent current knowledge of Pharmacy Procurement
* Excellent current knowledge of IT systems
* Understanding of hospital pharmacy systems
* Evidence of ongoing CPD
* Excellent understanding of the NHS and hospital systems
* Experience of working with MDTs
* Experience of audit
* Experience of developing services


Skills

* Effective written and oral communication skills
* Excellent interpersonal skills
* Strong understanding of pharmacy operations and medicines management
* Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
* Ability to train and support colleagues
* Commitment to data security and regulatory compliance
* Proficiency in digital systems (EPMA, automated cabinets, pharmacy stock control system)
* Conflict management
* Ability to manage time and resources to deliver timely outcomes
