Job Description:
Due to internal progression, we have a fantastic opportunity to join our Early Years, Education & Social Care department as a Head of School.
The Head of School is responsible for all operational matters within the Curriculum area. The role focuses on curriculum development, delivery, and performance management. You will ensure the curriculum meets the needs of students, the business, and the community, providing an outstanding learning experience while meeting quality, recruitment, staffing, and financial targets. As a curriculum area manager, you will provide inspirational leadership for staff and students, embedding our values: Trustworthiness, Inclusivity & Excellence.
The successful candidate will oversee Access to HE and HE Education (including Education Studies, Supporting & Managing Learning & PCET).
Interviews are planned for Thursday, 11th September.
Responsibilities include:
* Planning and managing the performance of all courses in the Curriculum area, including:
- Ensuring outstanding quality through quality interventions, staff appraisals, AWAMs, and curriculum-related staff development;
- Meeting targets and KPIs for attendance, retention, attainment, performance measures (including value-added), destinations, and internal progression, including English and Maths;
- Regular review of curriculum delivery to optimize planning and delivery;
- Meeting student satisfaction benchmarks annually;
- Embedding equality and diversity targets across the curriculum area.
- Contributing to the self-assessment process at all levels.
* Managing and developing curriculum area staff, including target setting, KPI monitoring, performance management, attendance, recruitment, AWAMs, induction, appraisals, and staff development.
* Deputising for the Head of Department as needed.
* Ensuring compliance with College procedures, maintaining records, registers, timetables, and reporting via KPIs.
* Managing the curriculum area budget, providing course costings, and resource planning to ensure quality and staff development.
* Managing physical resources and maintaining a safe learning environment through regular risk assessments.
* Contributing to the college’s strategic objectives and working collaboratively across departments.
