SmartStarts is a family owned nursery, rated Ofsted Good in our inspection last year. We have been open for 19 years and are now looking for an experienced Nursery Manager with a proven track record to enable the current owner/manager to retire from managing the nursery. We have a Deputy Manager and an Office Admin in place.
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team full-time. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education and strong abilities in business management and be financially literate.
The role requires someone whom has either significant experience as a Nursery Manager in charge of a setting or a current deputy looking for a new opportunity in a higher role .
This role is working on a full time basis, and the contracted hours time would be 40 hours per week (Monday-Friday).
Responsibilities
* Manage daily operations of the nursery, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
* Lead and support a team of childcare professionals, providing guidance and training as needed.
* Preparing the nursery for Ofsted inspections and following inspector recommendations
* Handle administrative tasks including budgeting, enrolment, staffing, and reporting to relevant authorities.
* Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding their child, and with staff to support a positive and productive working environment.
Qualifications
* Relevant qualifications in Early Childhood Education or a minimum of Level 4 Childcare equivalent are required.
* Minimum GSCE Level 4 (or equivalent) in Maths and English required
* Minimum of 5 years experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting is highly necessary, with experience in a supervisory role
* Understanding of child safety practices including paediatric first aid, safeguarding children and food hygiene. Current and valid qualifications preferred.
* Business management skills, including employee recruitment, effective budgeting, organising staff training and running meetings
* Computer literacy, including confidence using Microsoft Office and record-keeping software
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills in English, both verbal and written, for building relationships with staff, parents and Caregivers
