Job Description:
Job overview
Looking for a career in Healthcare but don’t have any experience.
At NLaG, we do not require you to have any formal qualifications as you will be supported to achieve these once in post. We value enthusiasm to learn, a desire to help safely care for our patients, and alignment with our values of Kindness, Courage, and Respect.
Our Senior Healthcare Assistant (SHCA) roles focus on delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a safe clinical environment.
We are committed to staff development through training and education, supporting you to learn new skills. Our dedicated Practice Development team ensures staff have the right skills to care for patients, including a weeklong induction for new starters to teach and practice clinical skills. There will be opportunities to develop transferable skills for your future career, potentially including pathways into registered nursing.
We have posts available within the Surgical Division
Main duties of the job
SHCA roles are recruited centrally. If successful after the interview, you may be placed in a pool while employment checks are completed and a suitable allocation is secured.
The majority of ward areas require shift work, including days and nights over 7 days, but requests for flexible working options will be considered.
* Maintain high standards of compassionate, professional, patient-centered care, respecting privacy and dignity.
* Assist patients with personal care, hygiene, and sanitary needs.
* Help meet patients’ nutritional needs, including non-oral nutritional and fluid intake, and assist with eating and drinking as needed.
* Accurately document food and fluid intake/output as per care plans.
