CNC Applications Engineer
Field Based – UK & Ireland
A leading supplier of advanced CNC turning technology is seeking an experienced CNC Applications Engineer to join its technical support team.
Location: Flexible within the London to M62 corridor, depending on candidate location.
This role involves supporting customers across the UK and Ireland, helping them successfully implement CNC turning solutions within their production environments. The position combines hands-on machining expertise, customer training and technical support, working closely with both customers and internal sales teams.
Travel throughout the UK and Ireland will be required.
Responsibilities of CNC Applications Engineer will include, but not limited to:
* Deliver machine training to customers on setup, programming and operation
* Support machining trials and technical demonstrations for prospective customers
* Provide programming and process support for CNC turning applications
* Produce cycle time estimates and machining strategies for customer components
* Assist the sales team with technical input during machine evaluations
* Provide remote technical support and troubleshooting when required
* Support turnkey projects including tooling and machining process selection
The suitable candidate for CNC Applications Engineer will need to possess the following skills and experience:
* Experience working with CNC lathes / multi-axis turning centres
* Experience with CNC control systems (Fanuc or similar)
* Experience with multi-channel programming and advanced CNC functions
* Understanding of cutting tools, machining processes and workholding
* Ability to interpret engineering drawings and component requirements
* Strong communication skills and a professional approach with customers
