The Electrical/Electronic and Mechanical Engineering School at the college provides students with industry-relevant knowledge and skills, creating pathways to successful careers, apprenticeships, and Higher Education progression. Key Responsibilities • Deliver high-quality teaching across a comprehensive range of engineering courses from Level 1 to Level 5 • Teach across multiple qualification frameworks including: o EAL/City & Guilds certifications o BTEC Foundation courses o Diplomas and Extended Diplomas o T Levels o Higher National Certificates and Diplomas in Electrical/Electronic and Mechanical Engineering • Engage and motivate learners aged 16-19 through innovative teaching methods • Adapt teaching approaches to suit different age groups and learning styles • Utilize workshop facilities including lathes, electronics test equipment, and mechanical testing apparatus • Support student achievement and progression pathways • Contribute to curriculum development and quality assurance processes What We're Looking For Essential Qualifications • Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field • GCSE English and Mathematics at Grade C/4 or equivalent (or willingness to achieve) • Level 5 teaching qualification for the FE sector (PGCE, DET) or commitment to obtain one • Assessor award (CAVA or equivalent) or willingness to undertake training Experience Required • Up-to-date knowledge in electromechanical engineering subjects • Proven teaching/training experience in the engineering field • Practical industry experience in electromechanical engineering • Hands-on workshop experience with engineering equipment and testing apparatus • Experience teaching both electrical/electronic and mechanical engineering subjects Key Skills & Attributes • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to inspire and engage vocational learners • Strong IT skills and digital learning technology proficiency • Effective classroom management and organizational abilities • Team collaboration and self-motivation • Commitment to continuing professional development and student achievement • Understanding of Equality, Diversity, and Safeguarding in education Desirable Experience • T Levels delivery experience • Student tutoring and mentoring • Curriculum delivery using various methodologies • Educational trip supervision • IT integration within curriculum delivery What Our Client Offers • Competitive Salary: £16,228 - £22,630 for 18 hours per week • Excellent Work-Life Balance: Part-time schedule with preferred Monday-Wednesday mornings • Professional Development: Full support to achieve Level 5 teaching qualification if not already held • Government Incentive: Eligible candidates can claim up to £6,000 directly from the UK Government under the targeted retention scheme for FE teachers (within first 5 years) • Career Progression: Opportunities within a successful and supportive engineering department • Modern Facilities: Access to well-equipped workshops and learning resources • Flexible Working: Some flexibility on working days beyond the preferred pattern How to Apply This is an exclusive opportunity through our recruitment agency.
