Shift Pattern: 4 on, 4 off 2 Days (07:00 19:00), 2 Nights (19:00 07:00), followed by 4 days off

Empowered Personnel is currently recruiting experienced Maintenance Engineers with electrical bias to join a global, well established, and fully automated 24/7 kerbside plastic waste recycling plant. This is an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer (electrical bias) seeking a permanent role with long term career prospects in a fast paced, high output production environment. Empowered Personnel is looking for a hands on, proactive Maintenance Engineer (electrical bias) who thrive in a high volume setting and enjoy solving problems, identifying faults, and driving operational improvements.
Key Responsibilities - Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Biased):
Attend and resolve equipment breakdowns across the site.
Conduct electrical and mechanical fault finding and repairs.
Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM).
Ensure all maintenance tasks are completed safely and to a high standard.
Accurately document work and maintain service records.
Communicate effectively during shift handovers to ensure continuity.
Promote equipment reliability through proactive maintenance.
Maintain high standards of safety and housekeeping in maintenance areas.
Requirements - Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Biased):
Recognised engineering qualification, ideally with electrical bias.
Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer (electrical biased) in a manufacturing or production setting.
Competent in diagnosing and repairing faults in electrically biased systems.
Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic schematics.
Full UK driving licence.
Methodical, self-motivated, and capable of working independently.
Strong time management and communication skills.
Able to remain calm and focused under pressure.
Working Environment:
This role is based in a 24/7 kerbside plastic waste recycling facility, operating extruders, shredders, trommels, a wastewater treatment plant, and hot/cold wash systems. The environment can be hot, dusty, and physically demanding, so good awareness of health & safety practices is essential.
