We are seeking an experienced Operational Manager to join our Microbiology & Virology network within SHYPS.
The successful candidate will work closely with all technical and support colleagues within Microbiology and Virology, clinical teams, and wider, external teams to ensure high-quality, safe, and efficient care for our patients.
We are looking for someone with proven operational management experience in laboratory setting, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and challenging environment will be key.

Main duties of the job
1. To work with clinical and managerial colleagues, ensuring that operational performance and access targets are met
2. Operational management of designated responsibilities
within our Microbiology and Virology departments
3. Work in partnership with senior colleagues within
our Network, Care Group and the wider Trusts
4. Take the lead in developing effective systems within our departments for designated responsibilities
5. Be responsible for the day to day line management of administration and clerical functions within Microbiology and Virology
6. Experience of management in the NHS, including service improvement
7. Ability to assimilate and co-ordinate various agendas prioritising appropriately
8. Performance management methodology

16. Experience of management in the NHS, including operational management and service improvement
