An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Royal Mail as a Out of Home Parcel Locker Site Preparation Manager. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring smooth operations and maintaining high standards across all deployment processes.

This role holder will need to navigate both internal functions and external stakeholders professionally and efficiently, as they take end-to-end ownership of ensuring viability of proposed locker sites and arranging all necessary preparatory works for those sites to have successful locker installations.

About the role

In this position you'll:

* Work closely with the wider Locker Lab team, Royal Mail Operations and support functions to ensure successful deployment and transfer of live lockers to BAU (or ongoing management & support by the Locker Lab Maintenance team).

Own engagement with allocated 3rd party site hosts (both large and small) after initial handover from the Site Acquisition team, including feedback loops to validate plans/timelines for enabling works and locker installations.
*
Ensuring needs for electrical works (1st fix), ground & minor works (civils) are identified and executed in line with our requirements and in a safe and structured way for relevant sites, reviewing and challenging quotes to ensure costs are within pre-defined thresholds and value for money is being achieved.
*
Ensure contractors/suppliers/internal support functions are briefed and instructed clearly and diligently, this is to ensure the works are carried out as per our requirements, in a timely fashion.
* Review images/reports from enabling works against the job specified, to ensure readiness of site for installation, rectifying works / delaying installations as required.
*
Manage, engage & consult with internal and external stakeholders, at various levels, e.g. external site hosts, internal DO COMs/PICs, survey and installation contractors, PFS/PFSL, Locker Lab site acquisition team, Locker Lab field maintenance team.

Work collaboratively with contractors, field engineers and the Locker Lab Site Acquisition team, to ensure there is a clear view of standards that are to be met.

About You

In order to excel in this position, you will posess the following skills and experience:

• Wide ranging and deep knowledge of processes, tools, and techniques to facilitate a successful deployment process.


• Meticulous attention to detail.


• Experience of managing contractor and supplier contracts.


• Experience in project management, installation and commissioning would be a distinct advantage.


• Proven experience of operating at management level in a unionised operational environment.


• Familiarity with basic tracking tools (e.g. Excel) and ability to quickly learn and adapt to new tracking tools and functionality (e.g. Jira, Pipedrive)


• Ability to simultaneously manage various phases of an end-to-end process, ensuring no phases are neglected, jeopardising the continual delivery of the desired end-product.


• Ability to manage activities and budgets with multiple internal and external key stakeholders.


• Ability to effectively communicate and establish credibility within various levels of the organisation and externally.


• Ability to work in a geographically dispersed team covering all extremities of the UK.
