Senior Staff Nurse – Haematology/Oncology

We are seeking a Senior Staff Nurse to join our expert Cancer Nursing Team at The Wellington Hospital, part of HCA Healthcare UK. While this role is typically suited to Band 6 nurses, we warmly welcome applications from established Band 5 Staff Nurses with a minimum of 3 years' post-registration experience in haematology or oncology nursing. Applicants must also be SACT-approved and have at least 1 year of experience independently administering chemotherapy. The purpose-built Medical Oncology Unit includes 17 oncology beds and 2 neuroendocrine suites, delivering bespoke, patient‑centred care.
You will be part of a skilled and supportive team delivering high standards of specialist oncology care. With a nurse‑to‑patient ratio of 1:4, you will have the autonomy to provide truly individualised treatment planning and assessments. This role places you at the forefront of modern cancer care, offering access to cutting‑edge treatments and clear career progression pathways into leadership roles such as Sister or Matron.
Key Qualifications
* Current NMC Nurse registration
* Ideally a Band 6 Senior Staff Nurse, OR
* A Band 5 Nurse with:
o Minimum 3 years' post‑registration oncology nursing experience
o Experience as an approved chemotherapy giver (SACT)
o At least 6 months of independently consolidated chemotherapy administration
* Strong knowledge of systemic anti‑cancer treatments (chemotherapy, immunotherapy, radiotherapy, etc.) and their side effects
