Walsall College takes part in the Targeted Retention Incentive (TRI) scheme, a Department for Education initiative that provides financial incentives of up to £6,000 to eligible further education (FE) teachers working in priority subject areas. Eligible teachers must be within the first five years of their FE teaching career and teach specific courses in areas such as construction, chemistry, computing and digital, early years, engineering and manufacturing, maths, and physics.
Payments range from £2,000 to £6,000 depending on teaching hours and the provider’s profile, with higher amounts available for institutions serving greater proportions of disadvantaged learners.
