Irrigation Engineer Pay: From £17.00 per hour (circa £37,000 per year, based on 42 hours per week) Overtime (Available as required) Location: Corby Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Barker Ross is recruiting an Irrigation Engineer to join a growing and well-established agricultural engineering business. This is a hands-on role suited to a mechanically minded engineer who enjoys working with new machinery and supporting customers during critical seasonal periods. The Role You will be responsible for the assembly, inspection, servicing, and repair of irrigation equipment including hose reels, pumps, and booms. The role is primarily workshop-based, with occasional UK travel to customer sites for servicing and breakdowns. Key Responsibilities Carry out pre-delivery inspections (PDI) on new equipment Assemble machinery to customer specifications Service, maintain, and repair irrigation equipment Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical faults Attend customer sites across the UK when required Complete service and inspection records accurately What We're Looking For Background as an Agricultural Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Plant Fitter, or similar Strong mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience Proven ability to service and repair machinery or equipment Ability to work independently and as part of a small team Proactive approach with strong attention to detail Good communication and customer service skills Full UK driving licence Desirable (Not Essential) Experience with irrigation or agricultural machinery Basic electrical fault-finding Welding or fabrication experience Understanding of basic hydraulic systems Forklift licence Working Hours Monday-Thursday: 08:00-17:00 Friday: 08:00-16:30 42 hours per week Overtime available On-call rota required Benefits Competitive pay Company pension Sick pay 20 days holiday bank holidays Free on-site parking Excellent working conditions Full product and equipment training provided If you're interested in this opportunity, click Apply Now and we'll be in touch to discuss next steps.
