Join to apply for the Senior Mental Health Crisis Nurse Practitioner role at NHS Scotland.
This position offers an opportunity within the Mental Health Assessment Unit for a highly motivated nurse to join our team.
The crisis services, including Braeside, MHAT, OOH's triage, night NTL's, and OOH's CPN's, are undergoing organizational changes aimed at enhancing service delivery. Developments include on-site assessments within persons' localities or homes, and joint working with SAS and Police Scotland for joint response and assessments.
The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge in assessing major mental illnesses and distress, capable of working autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team, making sound clinical decisions.
The post involves assessing mental state and risks such as suicide, self-harm, and violence within holistic assessments. Some assessments may be nurse-led, others joint with medical colleagues, including police S297 assessments. The team also provides a 24/7 triage service to Police Scotland, Scottish Ambulance Service, and NHS24.
You will be expected to work a 24-hour shift pattern. Part-time work will be considered.
