As we continue to grow, we are seeking a passionate Tool Maker to join our Toolroom team and contribute to our mission of excellence in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing tools, ensuring our operations run efficiently and safely. You’ll collaborate with the operations and engineering teams, providing technical expertise to support production goals and increase reliability.
Job Description:
As a Tool Maker you will be part of a well-established team maintaining production tooling, Jig and fixtures to ensure the quality and reliability of production.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Apply problem solving and continuous improvement, recommend and implement improvements to maximise tooling availability, performance, improve quality and reduce waste.
• Design, fabricate and commission new jigs and fixtures to provide process capability for production processes.
• Prioritise workload to ensure prompt response to breakdowns and completion of PPM to schedule.
• Tooling reactive repairs on press tooling, jig, fixtures and machine parts.
• To support new product introductions ensuring equipment and processes can achieve operational requirements.
• Analyse tooling issues, faults and causes, and create effective PPM and TPM activities.
• Record all activities on CMMS.
• Sourcing and procurement of spare components.
• Support and assist Production teams to ensure daily targets are met.
• Assist Maintenance Engineers with breakdown, repairs, PPM, installations on other factory plant and equipment as required.

Qualifications and experience:
We encourage candidates from all backgrounds to apply. Whilst qualifications give you the knowledge to be successful in this role, experience and soft skills will play a huge part in this role. To be successful in this role, you should have:
Essentials
• Apprenticeship as Mechanical Fitter, Machinist or Toolmaker/NVQ Level 3 in relevant Engineering Skill/BTEC Level 3 Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Knowledge of safe working practices within a Machine Shop environment.
• Relevant experience toolmaking
• Experience with CNC lathe, CNC mill and surface grind.
Desirable:
• Experience with CAD, 3D modelling and Inventor
• Experience with tooling design
• Experience with wire eroder, spark eroder, Tig/Jig welding
