Operations Shift Manager
We currently have an excellentopportunityfor a Operations Shift Managertojoin a friendly andbusy on-site team for a waste treatment plant based in Fawley, Hampshire.
Responsibilities
The main purpose of the Operations Shift Manager role is to manage a multi-skilled team working to a 24hr shift pattern, whilst taking responsibility that operations and all works on site are compliant with regulatory requirements and the Company's safety, environmental and quality policies.
Your duties will includethe following:
Operations & Production
* Manage the workload and focus of the shift team and operating parameters to maximise processing rates within strict compliance limits.
* Provide effective reporting on daily throughputs and kiln conditions and ensure downtime analysis is recorded accurately.
Safety
* Manage and Issue Permits to work in accordance with the Safe System of Work and isolation procedures.
* Ensure that all accidents, incidents and near misses are reported.
* Ensure high levels of housekeeping on site are maintained.
Planning and Development
* Liaise with the maintenance department to schedule and plan the work required as efficiently and safely as possible.
* Assist in shutdown activities, liaising with engineering/maintenance on site and in shutdown meetings to review progress and coordinate works.
Ideal Experience & Skills
* Chemical orEngineering qualification and / or extensive experience in a continuous process environment or waste incineration.
* Managerial experience of a multi-disciplinary team, previous shift working would be an advantage.
* Have experience of managing Safe Systems of Work.
* Have knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental Regulatory requirements.
* PC literate (MS office)
Desirable Skills:
* Forkliftlicense
* First Aid trained
* NEBOSH Certificate
Salary- £53,000
Hours- 12 weeks of shifts running 7-7 both days and nights, after the 12 weeks you will have approx. 23/24 days off before the next 12 weeks starts. More detail on how the shifts run can be discussed on application.
